Everything We Have Eaten In The Past Month

Sorry it's been a while since we have posted anything. Sarah and I have both been really busy. Sarah has started a training program at work, and I have been pretty busy with Law School. However, I had the last week off for Spring Break, so I was able to catch up on naps. And, of course, Sarah and I were still able to find time to cook and to bake. This first picture is of some brownie cupcakes that Sarah made for Valentine's Day. They were pretty delicious.

I tried my hand at crepes for breakfast one morning, and they turned out pretty well. This one had raspberries, lemon zest, and powdered sugar, which was pretty tasty. The batter takes a while to make, but they're worth it.

One night during Spring Break, I decided to try making Cuban food, which turned out alright. I made a tropical-seasoned pork chop with an orange and lime glaze, with some yellow rice. It wasn't half bad. I also put up some Christmas lights to give it that authentic Hispanic restaurant feel.

For dessert, I was a little ambitious and made churros. Since I haven't had a good churro since Disneyland, I figured it was time to make my own. This is the dough that I had to make. It was massive, eggy, sticky, and ridiculous to make, but it turned out pretty good. It's worth it if you're a foodie like me and Sarah.

I gues this is the Spanish style of churros, because I made it with some chocolate dipping sauce. It was pretty much the greatest thing I have ever made in my life. Don't worry, I have plenty of dough in the freezer, so if you want some, come on over.

Oh my goodness! The churros look to die for! It brings back so many memories! How the heck are you two? Where is Sarah working? Ryan and I are headed back to Washington this summer, are you two going to be there?

In response to these other posts, yes, we will be in Washington for this summer. I will probably be working with the American Bar Association, which should be fun.

Also, if you want to try the churros, I just followed a recipe from Food Network. Just be aware that it makes a lot of dough. Here's the link:

De veras? Hay churros deliciosos con chocolate y arroz a la cubana para todos!? I've cancelled our reservations at the other D.C. dining establishments...we'll be dining at Plato de Peterson.
P.S. Please leave the Christmas lights up.
